Hi all,

I'm sorry for the long delay between updates! It looks like an update I tried to post in January didn't actually post. So odd! So let's try this again!

We've had a couple of little delays in fulfillment in the last couple of months. Our wood display boxes took about an extra month to be delivered. And, we're currently waiting on about 100 backordered brass bolt-action pens from our pen hardware supplier. They anticipate being able to send them to us at the end of February.

For the most part, we are on track for on-time delivery for everyone's requested delivery dates. The possible exception will be backers with bolt-action pens as part of their rewards, depending on when our back order arrives.

Shipping Updates + Projects By Our Backers

Hi all,

Happy holidays if you celebrate! We are breathing a huge sigh of relief in our shop today, as our very last holiday orders shipped yesterday for last-minute delivery. It's been a whirlwind month here in the Allegory workshop! 

I wanted to send a quick update regarding shipping for the remainder of this project. We've already started shipping batches of post-holiday delivery rewards, and don't anticipate any significant delays in wrapping up this project by the end of February. After being part of the Kickstarter community for almost 14 years, we've had the pleasure of sharing some of our backers' projects with you. We have two backers with live projects right now, in fact! Please give them a look if they are of interest to you.

Brad is working on a project to bring back radio dramas. There are only four days left to support his project.

Hi all,

We have 161 of you who added the holiday delivery option to your pledges. We've already started making pens, so we'll start shipping next week. We're in good shape to get all of your rewards out quickly. But, please read the next couple of bullets just to make sure we have what we need from you:

• If you did receive an email from BackerKit this morning that your survey was locked, you're all set. I don't need anything else. :) = 113 backers
• If you didn't receive an email from BackerKit this morning, that means that you haven't completed your survey yet. I clicked through a few of them, and some are just missing card info for shipping. Please be sure to add that and completely finish your survey by clicking the green "Place My Order" button. = 26 backers
• If you selected the split payments option when you made your original pledge, I emailed you directly this morning with our solution to this issue. Please check that email from me at [email protected]. = 22 backers

Surveys Sent

Hi all,

All the surveys have been sent as of this evening. Please email me at [email protected] if you don't have yours waiting in your inbox.

If you opted to split your pledge into a series of payments, your survey won't send until the last payment has been processed via Kickstarter.

If you added holiday delivery to your rewards as an add-on, please be sure to complete your survey ASAP. We'll be starting to pull those shipping batches as early as next week.

Hi all!

Jess here, Allegory co-founder and Chad's wife. Many of you have already chatted with me via comments, messages, or email, but I'll be the main point of contact while we fulfill this project. We're excited to get started! 

We have a number of new backers for this project, so, if you're new to Kickstarter or even just to working with Allegory on a Kickstarter, please keep reading.

What's Next?

Over the next two weeks, Kickstarter will be processing all your payments via Stripe. This gives everyone time to update their cards and for us to build out the post-project survey. This survey is how we will gather all your shipping information and final specs for your rewards (pen style, customizations, leather colors, storage choices, etc.) You'll also be able to add any add-ons you didn't select on Kickstarter, as well as finalize and pay for shipping. Don't stress about getting any of that information to me before the survey goes out. Until all of the surveys go out, I don't have a good place to track that information for each of you anyway.

The funds from the project will be transferred from Kickstarter to us on November 13.  We will send the survey the following week of November 17, if not sooner.

Over the next two weeks, we'll be building out the survey and starting work on the wood bodies of the pens so we can get the holiday delivery batches out by mid-December.

How can you help us fulfill the project quickly?

• Get your survey filled out as soon as possible after you receive it. Having surveys back quickly helps us build our batches for production and shipping most efficiently.
• Send any questions, special requests, or concerns directly to me at [email protected]. Tracking comments and messages on the Kickstarter platform, especially on a project this size, can be quite difficult. It's very easy for things to slip through the cracks. Email lets me respond quickly and have a searchable record to track our conversation.
• Communicate, don't wait! If you have a gifting deadline or another reason you need your rewards by a specific date, please let me know as soon as possible once you've filled out your survey. I'll use this information to put our production and shipping batches together. If you already selected the holiday delivery add-on, you don't need to email me separately about the delivery deadline unless you need it well before December 25.

A few of you have already messaged about adding items to your pledge. You'll be able to do that in the post-project survey really easily.
